Ellie gave up her 9th birthday to raise $1,293 for clean water projects and is currently running a campaign for her 10th birthday -- which has raised $1,340 so far.
She's a little horseback rider with a great heart. Talk about generosity. Ellie instantly pledged her ninth birthday after reading Rachel's story. She set a goal to raise $900 and ended up with close to $1,300. And now, here she is doing it a second time. She's making inspiration pretty contagious, and we adore her spirit.
ELLIE'S TAKE ON BIRTHDAYS:
What is your favorite type of birthday cake? Yellow cupcakes with no icing. I’m not a big fan of sweets.
What is your most embarrassing birthday memory? I think it would be when I accidently got punched in the nose at my 10th birthday party at the gymnastics center. I cried on my birthday.
What do you want to be when you grow up? I want to be a baker. I would like to have my own bakery that serves all kinds of sweets … for other people (remember, I don’t like sweets).
Who would you most like to spend your birthday with? All of my closest friends and my family on the beach.
If you could choose anyone in the world to sing you “happy birthday,” who would you choose and why? Probably Taylor Swift, because she inspired me to start playing guitar and she makes really good music.
What does water mean to you? Water is a blessing for those of us that have it, and one that should make us do everything we can to get it for those that don’t.
